Hi, my name is Carlos Cuevas. Welcome to Always Indigo, a feeble attempt to keep track of the things I watch, hear, or read. The blog started in 2014 as a way to make me put pen to paper (or rather hands to keyboard) because lazy writers like me lack the discipline to do it every day.
Movies are reviewed in the order I watch them. Books, music, and other subjects are added as inspiration strikes. I try to keep reviews short and to the point so I can devote time to other writing pursuits. But mostly because I’m lazy.
Thanks for visiting, and remember… SPOILERS ABOUND!
Ratings are as follows:
4 / 4 – Great. Exciting ideas and execution.
3.5 / 4 – Very good. A cut above the rest.
3 / 4 – Good. Solid and satisfying.
2.5 / 4 – Pretty good. Had the potential to be better.
2 / 4 – Okay. Entertaining but ultimately forgettable.
1.5 / 4 – Poor. A jumbled mess.
1 / 4 – Awful. The bottom of the barrel.
Rule of thumb: Watch anything with a rating of 2.5 or more.
I’ve stolen the title for this site from The Black Angels’ song Indigo Meadow (2013), available on the album of the same name. It means nothing, I just like the sound of it. And blue is cool. Sample the song here:
